How to Be Tough and Resilient
The Illusion of Faking Confidence
When it comes to confidence, you cannot really fake it.
In a challenging situation, in a crisis, or under a lot of pressure,
if you do not have confidence in yourself,
you cannot simply pretend that you do.
There is no trick or shortcut that can magically provide it.
Building Real Toughness and Resilience
True confidence comes from repeatedly facing difficult circumstances.
The more crises you deal with, the more challenges you take on,
and the more risks you take,
the more layers of toughness and resilience you build.

Confidence is directly tied to how many times you have
faced problems and navigated difficult situations.
If you are always avoiding challenges and steering clear of risks
that stretch your current abilities,
you will never be able to develop real confidence.
The Necessity of a Thick Skin
It is incredibly important to be tough, have a thick skin,
and be resilient because the world is very chaotic
and comes at you fast.
If you are weak and insecure, this world will crush you.
The only way you develop that necessary toughness is
by intentionally putting yourself in difficult circumstances.
If you fail, you simply fail.
However, in that failure, something highly valuable happens:
you learn what your limits are and how you can overcome them.
You must go out and meet challenges head-on rather
than constantly trying to avoid them.
Becoming Battle-Tested
In sports, we see this concept clearly.
Teams that are battle-tested—those that have lost and failed—learn
vital lessons.
They slowly build confidence through their failures
and their many defeats.
You have to go through your own failures and defeats
to become truly battle-tested, tough, and resilient.
