Life Lessons Your Father Forgot to Teach You

I remember my dad sitting me down from time to time

and advising me on things that matter the most in life.

I didn’t take it seriously that time.

But as I grow up, every lesson starts making sense.

As we age, we realize more and more how many things

our parents shielded us from in our childhood.

Our childhood innocence fades away,

and how we judge life and people completely changes.

The reality is that people aren’t always who they seem to be,

and life can be harsh.

It will break you down several times,

and if you are not strong enough to get up,

it will keep on destroying you until your last breath.

The lessons in these quotes are meant to help you

navigate the social world with a better understanding.

Strength and wisdom in solitude

Strength in men is crucial. It is not a matter of choice;

you must be strong because one day people will depend on you. You can always find that

Life also has its ways of showing people’s truth.

As these quotes reminds us;

“Strong men are found alone. Weak men are always in the crowd.”

“Learn to get comfortable alone, because nobody lasts forever.”

Your mental and emotional well-being is very important.

I have been through toxic and manipulative friendships

before finding the good ones.

You have to learn to keep your distance from people

who will never admit they are wrong

and always try to make you feel like it’s all your fault.

There is immense strength in letting go and knowing your value.

Also, waiting for what belongs to you is important.

I once read a quote by Fabienne Fredrickson in Malaysia that says:

“The day you plant the seed is not the day you eat the fruit.”

It got me puzzled for days,

but I finally realized that it is about a long-term perspective.

Patience is strength; impatience reveals how weak and insecure you are.

Learn to accept what is and work with what you have to

get what you want. Life will never be perfect.

And when focusing on your financial, spiritual, physical,

and mental growth, always remember that who you’re

becoming is more important than who you’ve been.

I started going to the gym 1.5 years ago, and my growth was amazing

and blew my mind.

I focused more on who I want to become instead of who I was.

Always remember the golden rule:

“When good things start to happen in your life, do yourself a favor: stay quiet.”

Not everyone wishes you the best at their heart,

though they may never admit it directly.

You will always make enemies when you stand up for your ground.

The true strength is measured when you are alone.

Acceptance is strength

Life doesn’t care about your mood at all.

It moves on, whether you like it or hate it.

It is a truth that we all come to accept over time.

I lost friends, lovers, and opportunities, and life went like nothing happened.

There is strength in accepting what can’t be changed.

I always reflect on this quote that says:

“Slowly losing friends is a part of growing up. We don’t lose friends; we just learn who the real ones are.”

Not everyone will accept you for who you are,

and not everyone will accompany you on every adventure you go on.

So, learn to accept that people will misjudge you,

and that’s completely okay.

I love quotes and always meditate on these quotes when it comes to the events in life that I can’t control:

“Sometimes, the best response to those already determined to misjudge you is no response at all. Save your energy.”

“Train yourself to take nothing personally to save yourself from 99% of mental problems.”

Respect

As a man, you are born with nothing, and you must earn everything that you want.

My uncle once told me, “Only women, children, and dogs are loved unconditionally.”

I later discovered it is a quote by Chris Rock.

As hurtful as this realization was,

I eventually started accepting it over time as I navigated life’s problems.

As a man, you should take pride in your skills, strength, and roles,

and less in how you look.

You earn the respect of society with what you can do.

If you have an entitlement mindset,

discard it because it doesn’t benefit you.

Perhaps your friends will tolerate it, but that’s where it ends.

Always remember this quote:

“A fit body, a calm mind, a house full of love. These things cannot be bought; they must be earned.”

What really matters in life

If you spend all your life reacting to what happens to you,

you will never be in full control of your life.

Not everything will matter to you; that means not everything should capture your attention.

I had known people who were trying to destroy my reputation.

I could’ve reacted to their moves,

but I ignored them because what they were saying was a lie,

and I knew that with time, people would discover the truth.

In the end, their lies backfired on them.

For that, never waste your time in anger, regrets, worries, and grudges.

Life is too short to be unhappy. Always reflect on this quote:

“Always remember that the life in front of you is far more important than the life behind you.”

I am not materialistic, but I am a purpose-driven type of person.

I endorse the idea that we men must be ambitious,

not in the sense of money only,

but to have an ideal we are working for.

Money will always follow ambitious people, no matter what,

because of how useful they can become to society.

I came across a quote on Instagram that said

“Make money so that you can walk out of situations you don’t like!”

It stuck with me since.

Discipline and self-awareness

Motivation is important in life.

It gives you the adrenaline rush to start a big project,

but it is discipline that makes you finish.

I read a passage from The Laws of Human Nature by Robert Greene

that highlighted the importance of having something to focus the mind;

this can be a goal, a dream, a task, or a purpose.

It can wander from one task to another;

you will never accomplish anything.

You can always rely on these two quotes for better clarity:

“Focus on your career because, at the end, people don’t see your heart; they see your success.”

“Nobody works harder than a man who knows no one has his back.”

If you give your best, you will achieve your greatest.

But hard work without a brain is a slave.

Work hard, but don’t follow the masses. Always be a :

“Be a free thinker and don’t accept everything you hear as truth. Be critical and evaluate what you believe in.”

Masculinity and mindset

You are born as a male, but you become a man.

Masculinity is a trait you must learn and develop.

You need to develop your aggression and channel it toward

a meaningful goal that will earn you respect and benefit your family.

Build your body so that you can protect your home and inspire the younger generation, not to brag and be liked.

That’s a healthy mindset.

I was watching a podcast once where the host discussed insecurities,

and it was mind-blowing.

We all have insecurities, whether you are the president, a priest,

or a teacher; however, the right mindset is not to let them dictate your life.

If you can’t fix your insecurity, you must direct it toward a cause.

The people-pleasing trait stems from a place of insecurity;

it means you want to be liked by everyone.

However, few people realize that incorporating this trait into teaching

or training can make you an exceptional trainer and teacher.

Because you know how to deliver a good or bad instruction

to people in a way that will suit them.

It is perfectly okay if you make enemies when you start working on your goals.

I know people who hate me because I created this blog.

Always reflect on these quotes when it comes to mindset and fitting in:

“Do not get attracted by the need to be liked. It is better to be respected, even feared.”

“When you stand and speak the truth, you make enemies.”

“A man without enemies is a man who’s never stood for anything.”

“If you’ve made no enemies, you’ve made no impact.”

“A lion doesn’t waste time worrying about what sheep think or say about him.”

Discernment

As a man, you must develop the skill to discern the real from the fake.

It is a skill that will greatly improve your life

and protect you from unnecessary problems.

I am an empath, and empathic people are often perceived as naive because they care deeply about others,

which can lead to people taking advantage of that trait.

I had to retain that gift within me,

but develop my ability to discern the truth from the lies,

the fake friend from the real one.

Some great books that opened my mind were “Laws of Human Nature” and “48 Laws of Power” by Robert Greene.

Robert Greene is one of my idols, and I frequently watch his interviews.

But if you are not into books, I urge you to always meditate

and reflect on these quotes until you master the art of discernment:

“Don’t trust anyone too much in this world—even your shadow leaves you in the dark.”

“Who betrays you once will betray you a thousand times. You don’t have to drink the whole sea to realize that it’s salty.”

“Don’t listen to every elder’s advice. Even fools grow older.”

“The faker you are, the bigger your circle will be. The realer you are, the smaller your circle will be.”

“You can’t discuss power moves and life goals with people who don’t share the same hunger as you. It will just sound like you are bragging.”

“A focused fool can accomplish more than a distracted genius.”

“Ignoring red flags because you want to see the good in people will cost you later.”

I travel and meet a lot of people in places I am not familiar with.

If you are new to a place, people will try to take advantage of you.

You have to be clever to enjoy life.

Purpose and perpective

An important lesson I was taught early in life was to always

have purpose and entertain multiple perspectives

because you are not always right.

You can reflect on these quotes for better clarity:

“Some roads you have to take alone to win. No family, no friends, no partner – just you.”

These are moments of solitude where you become aware of who you truly are and what makes you unique. This blog would never come to life if I didn’t enjoy my solitude.

“Stay single, build yourself, and focus on your dreams. The universe will send you someone who actually deserves you.”

“Don’t climb a mountain for the world to see you, climb it for you to see the world.”

Perspective is everything.

What matters most when you are chasing a goal

is the attention from people, but who you become.

“The entire point of life is to take chances on dreams that seem crazy to most, but feel like destiny to you.”

I am a big fan of risk, Always bet on youself.

“One day, you’ll realize no one was really watching, and you could’ve done whatever you wanted.”

The final lesson

The world is cruel and life doesn’t care

if you were taught these lessons or not.

The world expects you to have mastery and be ready every time.

Take these lessons and better your life.
